The North West Model Railway Clubs Association was founded in 1968. It exists to provide an informal link between Societies throughout the North West, an area currently extending from Shrewsbury to Penrith, Colwyn to Huddersfield, and which seems to keep on growing! It provides a regular means of communication between member Societies, and works to liaise with outside bodies and other similar Associations.
Each member Society receives a folder containing a copy of our Constitution, a Schedule of Members, an Exhibition Diary, a Register of Layouts within the Association, and a booklet "Making an Exhibition of Yourself" which is a set of guidelines for exhibition organizers, plus, of course, regular updates and reprints as required.
Contact is maintained through the monthly "North West Notes" page and the Association Newsletter "The Signalmen" that is sent to all member Clubs and Societies each quarter.

The AGM & Convention is now held in June and is hosted by a different Society each year.
Hosts for the 2008 AGM are Hazel Grove & District Model Railway Society.
Hosts for the 2009 Annual General Meeting are Keighley Model Railway Club
The Association Trophy is awarded at each AGM and the winner being decided by votes from the delegates to that meeting.

Membership of the Association is open to bona fide model railway organizations in the North West Region which exist for the furtherance of the hobby.

The annual subscription is set at the AGM and is currently £20 per year.
